Water and Acne

You have probably heard it all before...drink 8 glasses of water a day, stay hydrated...
etc...etc.

However, for those of us who have acne, it is VERY important to drink water!

Although water is not an acne treatment, water is necessary for the body and the organs to function properly.

And since your skin is the the largest organ in the body, it is essential to drink lots of water!

Water works to help carry nutrients and other necessary chemicals through your body. If there isn't enough water, your skin will have a more difficult time ridding your pores of any toxins that build up, including acne causing bacteria.

Not to mention the other HUNDREDS of ways water can help to keep your skin looking and feeling beautiful.

So, for those who want an easy way to reduce acne, it may be as easy as simply turning on the faucet.

Oratin and Acne

There are hundereds of different herbal acne treatments, but the one that seems to be building a real buzz recently is Oratin.

Oratin is a fairly new herbal acne treatment, and there are many people who will use to to treat acne over the next year.

However, after when one considers the ingredients in Oratin, it becomes much more difficult to believe that Oratin does anything to treat acne.

The active ingredient is Glucomannan. The Oratin website claims Glucomannan helps the body rid itself of toxins, and aids in regulating sugar in the bloodstream.

Furthermore, it has been shows to have some use in reducing obesity, diabetes, and constipation. However, it has NEVER been shown to reduce acne in any clinical trial.

Since the FDA does little to regulate herbal remedies for any disease, it is not necessary for the makers of Oratin to have any proof that Glucomannan is effective in treating acne.

Acne is caused by p.bacteria that grow in sebum under the suface of the skin, around the hair follicle. Since Glucomannan is essentially 100% pure fiber, and there is no evidence at all that fiber helps treat acne, there is just no proof that Glucomannan does anything at all for acne.
